ERASMUS+ TRAINING ACTIVITY OF THE CEEA VAMOS – JOB SHADOWING SLOVENIA



The Environmental Education Center of Vamos for Sustainabiliyt hosted a four-day Erasmus Job Shadowing Poučujmo vezenosti!/Let's teach outside!,hosted by EECS Vamos, with teachers from Primary Schools and Environmental Centers of Slovenia: Saša Lotrič (CŠOD Peca), Aleš Prapertnik (CŠOD Prvine), Mija Penca Vehovec (OŠ Žužemberk), David Ivačič (OŠ Podčetrtek)


On the first day of the program, the teachers, who were hosted in the guesthouse-historic building of the Parthenagogeio (Old Girls' School) that KEPEA Vamos has at its disposal, came to the Center in Kefalas, where they met the Pedagogical Team and the Manager, Pontikakis Fotis, were informed about the center's programs, were given a tour of the facilities, visited the Folklore Museum in Kefalas, tried the traditional treat with rusk, olive oil, olives and local cheese (mizithra) that is also offered to students and participated in workshops  of reuse, preparation of  beeswax ointment and aromatic olive oil with local herbs.

On the second day, the teachers had the opportunity to visit the 2nd Ecological Kindergarten and Primary School of Chania. The children of the Kindergarten welcomed us with songs in their herb garden where the teachers had the opportunity to plant aromatic plants together with the students, to tell a classic Slovenian fairy tale, and to be informed by the head of the Kindergarten, Ms. Evi Dimou, and the principal of the Primary School, Ms. Athina Marketaki, about the operation of the school. They also took a tour of the facilities and visited the English classroom, where the students, with the help of the English teacher, asked them questions about their country.

On the third day, the teachers attended the program "A Walk in Chania 5500 Years Ago" implemented by the EECS of Vamos with the 2nd and 3rd Primary Schools of Sitia, and had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Old Town of Chania in a playful way.

On the fourth and last day, the teachers went to one of the educational fields of KEPEA Vamos, Lake Agia, where a detailed demonstration of the program ''Water is an Element and as a Spirit'' was made, and they were also informed about the value of the wetland, birdwatched with binoculars and toured the landscape. They then went to the nearby area of the museum ​​MYΗS AGIA, where they were given a detailed tour and were informed about the operation and the workshops by the Museum Educator Ms. Marilena Pantelaki, and finally received their certificates from the Head of EECS Vamos
